A reversible accelerator-pedal response controller from Dinan for supported drive-by-wire BMW applications.
This is not an ECU tune and it does not add engine horsepower. It changes the relationship between pedal input and commanded throttle response so the driver can select a sharper or more relaxed pedal curve.
Application scope
Dinan publishes D440-1700 for a broad range of approximately 2000 and newer BMW applications, with additional support for select MINI and Toyota GR Supra models. Exact compatibility varies by year, model, chassis, and accelerator-pedal module. Confirm the vehicle in Dinan’s current application data before ordering.
Control options
- Five preset throttle curves
- Three driver-created curves can be saved to the device
- Wireless control switch
- Companion iOS and Android applications
- Works with stock or modified vehicles
- Connects at the accelerator-pedal harness and leaves the OBDII port available
Installation
Dinan lists approximately 0.25 hour of labor and describes the installation as reversible. Professional installation is recommended, especially on early BMW pedal assemblies. Confirm connector engagement, harness routing, pedal travel, fault-free operation, and a conservative initial curve before road testing.
Emissions
Dinan assigns this product Emission Code 7. Dinan states that it is legal for on-road use under the EPA Tampering Policy in jurisdictions that accept that policy, but it is not legal for sale or use in California while CARB testing remains pending.
Warranty
Warranty eligibility, exclusions, app support, and claim handling are governed by Dinan’s current written terms.
