The Dinan D660-0093-BLK is a valved axle-back exhaust engineered for the 2021–2026 BMW G80 M3, G82 M4, and G83 M4. It combines 76 mm T304 stainless-steel tubing with four 4.5-inch black ceramic-coated tips while retaining the vehicle’s original computer-controlled exhaust-valve operation.
This is the black-tip axle-back system. Dinan’s optional middle exhaust is a separate product and is not included.

Construction and design

Factory valve operation
The system retains computer-controlled valve functionality. The original BMW exhaust-valve actuators are removed from the factory axle-back and transferred to the Dinan exhaust using the supplied mounts, springs, heat shields, wiring extensions, and hardware. Dinan states that the original valve operation remains unchanged, allowing exhaust-valve behavior to continue through the vehicle’s M Drive settings.
With the valves closed, exhaust flow is directed through the Dinan muffler. Under operating conditions that command the valves open, more exhaust flow bypasses the muffler. Dinan describes the result as a deeper and louder sound than the factory axle-back while using drone-abatement design features to reduce unwanted cabin resonance.

Installation requirements
Dinan publishes an installation labor time of 2.7 hours. Installation is not a no-cut procedure. Dinan’s current instructions require cutting both factory exhaust pipes at the specified center punch marks behind the rear silencer.
The installer must also transfer the original valve actuators and rubber hanger mounts, install the supplied wiring extensions, align the four tips, confirm pipe and body clearances, and verify that both valve motors are connected and operating correctly. Because correct cutting, alignment, wiring, and valve setup are required, professional installation using Dinan’s current instructions is recommended.

The original BMW valve actuators and rubber hanger mounts are reused and are not supplied as replacement components. Dinan’s optional middle exhaust is not included.
Emissions classification
Dinan currently assigns this product Emission Code 5 and states that the part does not affect vehicle emissions and is not covered by emissions regulations. Product classification and applicable requirements remain subject to Dinan’s current documentation and the rules governing the vehicle’s place of registration and use.
Dinan limited warranty
Warranty coverage is governed by Dinan’s current written limited-warranty terms, including its eligibility requirements, exclusions, proof-of-purchase requirements, installation conditions, and claims process.
For eligible United States and Canadian specification vehicles still covered by the original vehicle manufacturer’s new-car limited warranty, Dinan states that qualifying Dinan products are covered for the remaining term of that original warranty, which Dinan describes as up to four years or 50,000 miles in the United States and 80,000 kilometers in Canada from the applicable in-service date. For vehicles no longer covered by the original new-car limited warranty, Dinan states that qualifying performance products are covered for two years with unlimited mileage from the original purchase date.
Improper installation, misuse, misapplication, unauthorized modification, neglect, and other exclusions can affect coverage.
