Porsche 718 GT4 / Spyder / GTS 4.0L SOUL Resonated Over Axle Pipes
The factory over axle pipes have dense particulate filters which heavily restrict the tone and character of the 4.0L engine. SOUL Resonated Over Axle Pipes increase performance while reducing rasp and drone when paired with other exhaust upgrades.
+ Fits all 4.0L Porsche 718 GT4 / GTS Cayman and Spyder vehicles (2020+) in North America. Most European vehicles have additional monitored ports on the factory pipes.
+ All Soul Performance Products exhaust components are backed by the industry’s first and finest Lifetime Warranty for both street and track use
+ No check engine light on North American cars
+ Weighs 9.4 lbs / 4.2 kg less than factory exhaust components (13.8 lbs vs 23.2 lb)
+ Designed and built in-house at our Willow Grove, PA facility
DEVELOPMENT
We analyzed every aspect of the 718 GT4 exhaust system to determine sizing, positioning, and flow characteristics of our components. 3D scanning enabled us to create a perfect bend profile to produce beautiful large radius mandrel bends and a one piece full 2.25″ design. The end result is a highly optimized upgrade for your Porsche for both street and track use! Many enthusiasts modify multiple portions of the exhaust system in pursuit of power and tone which can increase the volume and cabin presence beyond their preference. The primary benefit of the resonated version of our over axle pipes is gaining the performance increase of removing OPF filters without increasing volume to a great degree, whereas the Competition Over Axle Pipes offer bolder tone and volume. If you’re running aftermarket headers or rear exhaust our straight through race resonators take the edge off the overall volume and reduce bass / resonance at low RPM for a more refined experience.

Finally got around to installing my resonated OAPs on the Spyder after missing out on almost the whole driving season due to other obligations. I also installed the Soul valve controller at the same time and I have to say that this upgrade really does change the character of the car and greatly improves the experience. The engine feels smoother overall, which may have to do with the less restricted exhaust flow, but I suspect this is partly placebo effect due to the fact that it isn't constantly switching between valves open and closed depending on where you are in the rev range.
The sound is noticeably improved right on the first startup. It is louder, without ever being obnoxiously so, and the tone is pretty much perfect throughout the rev range for my taste. In the few shorter drives I've done so far, I've also heard some distinct crackles/gurgles that I didn't pick up before. I'd liken the difference between stock and the resonated OAPs with if you had gone from low-end to audiophile speakers and now could hear detail and nuance in the music that much more clearly, where before you didn't. I don't really ever cruise on the highway in sixth gear with the Spyder, so can't speak to the drone there, but in my driving there has been little to none, certainly not with the valves in standard mode.
Kudos to the team at Soul for a very solid product so far and I'd be remiss not to mention the superb finish on the pipes I received (non-heat treated in my case). Fitment is perfect and installation was a breeze and because the pipes are somewhat visible in the wheel well, they do add a bit to the cars overall appearance compared to the frumpy, utilitarian-looking stock OAPs.

I have the SOUL Ceramic-Coated Resonated OAP's installed on my 2022 Spyder in concert with the Cargrahpic 2-mode exhaust valve controller. IMV the SOUL Resonated OAP's are the "Godilocks Solution"...not too loud...not too quiet...but JUST RIGHT. My wife even likes them! We took a 250-some-odd-mile drive yesterday over the beautiful curvy, hilly backroads in Tennessee and Alabama. We drove with the exhaust valves OPEN until we reluctantly climbed aboard the interstate after dark to get home, and decided to go exhaust valves CLOSED for more serene driving on the drive home in the dark. But rest assured...when I start the car at our home...the first thing I do is ensure I'm in the "LOUD MODE" with the exhaust valves open because I LOVE THE SOUND of these SOUL RESONATED OAP's!

I have some first hand experience to share with these new resonated OAPs when combined with the Valved Rear System. I’m very happy with this combination for my taste.
I was after a little less cabin resonance and a more street friendly sound level. The Resonators do help control cabin boom/resonance, the impact is small yet noticeable back-to-back. I find they also help control overall tone and volume. If you are familiar with the tone of the valved rear system with standard OAPs, throaty, gurgles, and some crackles. These resonators certainly dampen some of that and yield a slightly higher pitch in overall tone, I feel the right amount. Sound is subjective, for my personal taste, I think without the resonators the outside sound is just at the line or slightly over for a street setup. With the resonators, I find it perfect, just rowdy enough but slightly refined. On a 1-10 rowdy scale, rear box only is a 4, rear + resonated OAPs is 6-7, and rear + OAPs is 8.
