SOUL Performance Products 991.1 Long Tube Street Headers are built around large diameter, free flowing catalytic converters with long tube runners for maximum gains in power, throttle response, and flat-six engine tone.
DETAILS:
+ Fits all Porsche 991.1 Carreras (2012-2016)
+ Added performance without a check engine light
+ Power gains of over 25 whp and ft-lbs of torque!
+ Designed and built in-house at our Willow Grove, PA facility
+ All SOUL Performance Products components are backed by a renowned Lifetime Warranty for both street and track use
DEVELOPMENT & SOUND: The factory header design is a very simple, mass produced component not suited for performance. By creating a unique application for the 991.1 platform, we’ve focused on sizing the runners (2”) correctly to extract maximum power from the 3.8L engine while producing great gains from the 3.4L as well. Flow is enhanced without a check engine light due to our premium SOUL designed and US produced 300 cell catalytic converters with custom specced precious metal catalyst coating and triple metal matrix core.
POWER: Verified independent dyno testing at Apex Autowerks on a Mustang dyno revealed real, repeatable peak gains of 9 whp and 13 ft-lbs of torque with a noticeable improvement in the mid RPM range, well over 25 whp and ft-lbs of torque at 3,000 RPM for a boost where you’ll be at most during normal driving. Even greater power can be realized with an ECU tune, especially after 5,000 RPM where adjusting timing would make a significant difference.
CONSTRUCTION: Each 991.1 header set is assembled out of T304L stainless steel. Merge spikes are incorporated to smooth exhaust flow into the collector and increase power. Thick water jet cut flanges cut to ISO 9001:2015 standards ensure perfect fitment and product longevity. Each exhaust is tested in a fixture to guarantee fitment and then foam packed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
BOLT ON AND GO: Each set of catted headers is built and tested in a thick gauge aluminum fixture (which prevents warping) to ensure perfect fitment then foam packed to arrive in perfect condition. New high grade hardware is included for the header to exhaust flange. Thorough installation instructions are included in the box for a straightforward install that can be performed by most DIY enthusiasts.
LIFETIME WARRANTY: Enjoy your SOUL exhaust components with confidence on both the street and track as they are covered by our Lifetime Warranty! Our team will quickly work with you to resolve any questions or issues that you may have.

I've got the Soul headers (w/cats) into Porsche Sport Exhaust and the Softronic Tune (991.1 C2S). It absolutely improves power everywhere with the most notable difference being in the mid range. Sound with PSE off is basically just like Stock. Sound with PSE on is a bit deeper/throatier at idle, maybe 20% louder in the mid range but wide open throttle is probably 30% louder. In my opinion it's just the right amount of extra sound... i almost wanted it to be louder at first but I've come to appreciate the balance of extra sound without overdoing it. Full launching the car and ripping it to redline actually sounds quite viscous - I've had some great compliments from friends who say it sounds like a race car. I would absolutely recommend.

Installed Soul Headers and had to take a break, wash up before I could take it out for a ride
Initial impressions:
Sound:
With Valves closed- To my strained ears, even with the sunroof open, they sound no louder than OEM when exhaust valves are closed off, although the car has a different tone (a growl)
With Valves open: the car is marginally loud below 2500 RPM, and has a Growl when blipping throttle. After 2500 things change drastically, car sounds Amazing. I am besides myself
Drone: There is More drone with valves open when cruising at 60 MPH, please note that in my opinion OEM Sport exhaust ALSO DRONES, the Drone is just very slightly louder.
Power:
- Butt dyno confirms what I expected, Very noticeable Torque increase, especially between 2500-5500, I made several passes in 2nd and 3rd gear giving it full beans around 2500 and no question the car is much torquer, (by N/A standards)
All in all, this upgrade is a no brainer and something I should have done a long time ago

I have Soul long tube headers on my 2014 Carrera S, Porsche factory PSE, and a custom tune. I am glad to report accurately that I have made more horsepower (based on manufacturer specs and multiple dyno runs. first run resulted in around 350 HP), have removed restrictions (no cats), increased the volume of air...but have not...HAVE NOT experienced any amount of drone or any other undesirable affects. If memory serves me I put down about a final 367 HP to the wheels...Unfortunately I did not do any runs prior to the mods, but my research showed somewhere in the 10-20 HP is average gain on the N/A motor with these mods...closer to 20.
So, I have my cake and am eating it too...

I've had the long tube headers with cats for a couple of months now and I thinks it works really well with the stock PSE. I feel a little more grunt above 3K. If you can only replace one thing at a time (headers or exhaust), I highly recommend replacing the headers first.

Soul cats and headers do increase volume and have more louder pops and cracks you hear for sure.
At idle the car is noticeable deeper and has a little bit of a grumble vs stock. What you notice is that this is apparent with or without PSE activated. The big difference and where you hear it most would be after 3,500 rpm. Due to more air and less restrictions you can hear the Porsche engine wake up and “wail” more.
The performance aspect is the definitely where you get your money’s worth!!! Crazy - but you really feel the increase and mostly the urgency of the car has picked up greatly below 60mph. I came from a GT350r and what I missed the most was the torque and bottom end power. I gained some of this back but the best comparison is you feel a little bit of slingshot affect now - love this this the most!
There has been a few times that I wished for more aggressive sound and volume but then other times I am super happy that it’s not louder than what it already is. I might still go with the exhaust so get the whole experience but waiting to let this settle in some to make that call. It’s gotten a little more robust in sound and louder over the last few days as I suspect the cats are getting acclimated to my style of driving and packing in tightly so that’s a plus!
Overall:
1. Performance is a 10 out 10
2. Sound volume is a 6 out of 10
3. Sound quality is a 10
4. Quality of product is a 10
5. Customer service and John is a 11 (13 if I get an exhaust for 1/2 off j/k!)
Anyone on the fence and worried about being too loud but needs some increase to the factory set up - this is it for sure! No drone, big difference in seat of the pants power and performance while not pissing off the wife and neighbors.
