The 992 exhaust guide

Porsche 911 992 Exhaust Systems & Upgrades

Find the right starting point for your 911. Compare what each system changes, hear manufacturer recordings, and check the details that matter before ordering.

Choose your 992. Then your exhaust.

A focused shortlist, with the important differences upfront.

Start with the vehicle family, then confirm model year, trim, PSE and OPF/GPF equipment. These shortlists do not replace exact fitment verification.

992.1 Carrera / Targa

Three valved rear-exhaust options. Check each listing for its supported trims, factory exhaust and regional equipment; Carrera T and GPF applications are not interchangeable across brands.

992.1 Turbo / Turbo S

Compare a valved rear system with a non-valved X-pipe. These are Turbo-family applications, not Carrera exhausts or 992.2 Turbo S systems.

992.1 GT3 / GT3 RS

Compare a valved rear exhaust with a non-valved cat-back. Confirm the model, tip configuration and GPF equipment before selecting a variant.

992.2 Carrera Base / S / T

Two SOUL rear-exhaust paths for 2025+ Base, S and T applications. The 992.2 GTS uses a separate exhaust layout and is excluded here.

992.2 Carrera GTS

These choices address the GTS T-Hybrid exhaust layout. Compare the complete scope: a valved system and a side-muffler bypass are different components.

Fabspeed

Side Muffler Bypass

$2,745.95 USD

Special order · confirm lead time

Side-muffler replacement · 992.2 GTS only

Replaces the factory left-side muffler on the GTS T-Hybrid. This is an individual bypass component, not a complete turbo-back system.

Fabspeed identifies this 992.2 Targa recording as sport cat + side muffler bypass. It is not a bypass-only recording. The companion sport cat is not included with this bypass listing.

992.2 Turbo S

Hear two manufacturer-recorded configurations. The side-muffler bypass and sport-cat X-pipe replace different parts; their prices are not like-for-like complete-system quotes.

Valved bypasses · 992.2 Turbo S

Replaces the side mufflers while retaining valved operation. Sport catalytic converters are a separate upgrade, not included with these bypasses.

992.2 GT3

Start with the separately listed 992.2 non-valved option. For a valved system or a header package, have us verify the full configuration rather than assuming a 992.1 package transfers.

Recordings are supplied by the manufacturers. Microphones, driving conditions, valve position and companion parts affect what you hear. Compare character, not absolute volume or brand-to-brand loudness. Sound and emissions compliance must be checked separately.

Not sure which configuration you need?

Send your model year, trim, factory exhaust or PSE details, and how you use the car. Include any existing exhaust modifications so we can review the complete setup.

Shop Porsche 911 992 exhaust systems for selected 992.1 and 992.2 Carrera, Turbo and GT3-family applications. Compare valved and non-valved rear exhausts, complete systems, X-pipes, link pipes, sport catalytic converters, downpipes, headers and matched exhaust packages. Every component in this collection is application-specific; “Porsche 992” alone is not proof of fitment.

Start with the generation and model

  • 992.1 Carrera and Targa: Confirm the exact model year, trim, factory exhaust, Porsche Sport Exhaust configuration and OPF/GPF equipment.
  • 992.1 Turbo, Turbo S, GT3 and GT3 RS: Use systems developed for the exact engine and rear-exhaust layout. Carrera components should not be assumed to transfer.
  • 992.2 models: Use a separately listed 992.2 application. Do not assume that a 992.1 exhaust, catalyst, header or mounting component fits a 992.2 vehicle.

Choose the amount of the exhaust you want to change

  • Rear muffler or axle-back system: Replaces the rear silencer and sometimes the outlets or tips. These systems commonly focus on sound character and weight while retaining more of the original exhaust.
  • Complete system or cat-back package: Replaces a larger portion of the exhaust. Manufacturer terminology and included components vary, so compare the exact schematic and parts list instead of relying on the category name alone.
  • X-pipe or link-pipe section: Changes the connecting or center section of the exhaust. Compatibility with the factory muffler, an aftermarket rear system and the original catalysts must be checked individually.
  • Sport catalytic converters, downpipes or headers: These upstream components can change sound, heat, exhaust flow, emissions status and software requirements. Confirm catalyst configuration, intended use and any required ECU calibration before ordering.

Check PSE, valve control, software and legal use

Some Porsche 992 exhaust systems reuse the original Porsche Sport Exhaust valve actuators. Others use manufacturer-specific valves, controllers or wiring, while non-valved systems operate without active sound control. Confirm whether the vehicle has PSE or the standard exhaust and whether the selected system requires transferred actuators, a controller, wiring, coding or additional factory components.

Software requirements also vary by component. A rear exhaust may have different calibration requirements from optional link pipes, sport catalytic converters, downpipes or headers. Follow the current manufacturer instructions for the exact combination.

Sound and emissions compliance are separate questions. A component that does not alter an emissions element may still fail local or manufacturer-stated noise requirements. Never treat “does not alter emissions equipment” as automatic street or highway approval.

Before ordering

Have the VIN, model year, exact trim, 992.1 or 992.2 generation, body style, factory exhaust configuration, PSE status, OPF/GPF or catalyst configuration and intended use available. EuroCustomsPR can then review system scope, required companion parts and installation requirements before the order is placed.

For a manufacturer-documented titanium option for supported 2019–2024 992.1 Carrera-family applications, review the Akrapovič S-PO/T/8 Slip-On Race Line.
